Affordable home ownership for all

Owning a home offers an opportunity for families to put down roots, a chance for safe and secure home to raise a family and a retirement savings plan all in one.

Home ownership is also inaccessible to many Winnipeg families. The cost of a down payment and high upfront purchase prices are leaving families in our community behind.

Purpose Construction is partnering with the Province of Manitoba, the City of Winnipeg, and the North End Community Renewal Corporation to build high quality new homes on vacant inner city land – homes that are physically accessible, highly energy efficient, and built to last.

Using an innovative shared-equity mortgage model, Purpose Construction will be offering these homes for sale to low income families at a discounted rate and with no requirement for a down payment.

The first Purpose Homes will be complete and offered for sale in the fall of 2022.
